Walk for Life At Bur-Mil Park
On April 19 from 1:00 to 3:00 walkers will gather at Bur-Mil Park for a day of fun and festivities for the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center . With entertainment for children, the annual event is the most family-oriented of those hosted by the Care Center each year. Participants will support the ministry by raising money from their friends and co-workers to sponsor them. The walker who raises the most money, collected by the day of the Walk, will win a cruise for two from All About Cruises.
Participants at the Walk will celebrate “Walking in the Light” with the theme verse from Psalm 36:9: “For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light” (NIV). Fitting the 2008 theme for the ministry, the verse reminds participants that God is the Giver of all life, a truth demonstrated daily at the Care Center.
Two new features bring added excitement to the 2008 Walk—an online opportunity and a team feature. This year's registration and donation requests are easier than ever: Just visit www.firstgiving.com/gpcc to register as a walker (no fee). Then send emails to family, friends, and co-workers to request their support by sponsoring you. Following are links to use if you want to download letters to email to family, friends, and coworkers. Of course, the traditional paper method is still available for those who prefer.
In addition, walkers can walk in teams of 10 this year , with each team member raising his or her own support. Each will be able to track on the Walk web site which team is gathering the most support. The event promises fun and excitement in a family reunion style when we can join to celebrate the hand of God, the Fountain of Life, on this ministry. See you there!
